Mitchell|McDermott is an independent firm of Construction Consultants founded by Paul Mitchell and Anthony McDermott. Paul and Anthony were previously directors in a global construction consultancy business working in the Irish market.
Mitchell|McDermott provide Cost Management, Technical Due Diligence, Funder Advisory Services, Insolvency Services and Consultancy Services across all sectors of the construction industry.
Our vision is to become the most sought after construction consultancy practice in the Irish market. We will do this by serving our clients in an efficient manner with the information they need to make profitable decisions in a timely fashion. Our team will comprise only like-minded people who have the Client’s interests at heart and work collaboratively within a team environment. We will not dilute our service offering with conflicting services and will remain resolutely independent. We will invest to ensure we have the Best People, Technology and Knowledge at our Client’s disposal. We also plan to have fun doing so!

Paul’s career has spanned almost 20 years, most of which was spent at Davis Langdon with two years spent in San Francisco for Davis Langdon Adamson. Shortly after AECOM acquired Davis Langdon in 2010 Paul became Head of Ireland for Cost and Project Management in Ireland whilst also sitting on the UK / Ireland Board for a period with a remit to expand services in mainland Europe.
Paul has a wide range of experience in the Public and Private sector including a number of specialisms most notably in Financial Modelling of development projects and Construction Law holding a post graduate qualification from Trinity College.
Paul enjoys being a trusted client advisor and taking a hands-on role on projects and believes that focused involvement at key stages in the project supported by an experienced team can bring real value to a project whilst leaving a unique legacy that the designers can be proud of.

Anthony has over 17 years’ experience in the construction industry having spent a number of years in a leading Irish practice before moving to Page Kirkland in Sydney for 6 years. Anthony returned to Davis Langdon/AECOM in 2007 where he spent 8 years becoming Director and Head of Cost Management for Ireland in 2010.
Anthony is a hands-on cost manager delivering projects from concept to completion and enjoys being at the client’s side offering strategic advice at all stages of a project.
Anthony takes a practical common sense approach,under-pinned by service excellence and technical knowledge. The experience Anthony has gained over the years comes from working on a broad range of projects including Mixed Use Commercial, Retail and Residential.
Anthony’s success in his approach is evident by the consistent list of repeat clients he has maintained through forming relationships and consistently delivering for his clients throughout his career.
As well as Cost Management some of Anthony’s specialisms include Technical Due Diligence and Reinstatement Valuations.
Michael Gallagher | Director

Michael is a Director and Head of Project Management at Mitchell McDermott. He has extensive experience in client-side project management in the Irish construction industry. He started his career at KMCS working on a range of large-scale private and public sector projects. In 2011, he joined HSE Estates as the Lead Project Manager for the €170m National Forensic Hospital, Dublin and managed the project from business case through to planning approval.
Prior to joining Mitchell McDermott, Michael was an Associate Director with a leading Irish consultancy firm and was responsible for delivering third level education, healthcare, commercial, hotel, residential and student accommodation projects.
A dynamic and energetic Project Manager who is focused on delivering great outcomes for his clients, Michael enjoys performing in a demanding role and takes an holistic approach to projects. A key strength is his ability to build and lead highly motivated teams. He's a strong advocate of good design, quality building and he understands how to manage the risks, challenges and key strategic elements which are critical to the success of a project.
